Project Brief
We are finally pleased to announce completion of this large scale house extension we undertook in Merthyr Tydfil in the later part of 2024. This was a complex project that required groundworks and landscaping as well as the extension build and interior works.
Scope of Work
As part of this project, we carried out the following preparation works:
- Took out raised levels of garden and removed 300 tonne of debris
- Fitted new under ground drainage in preparation for patio
- Dug out and replaced all previous drainage fitted
- Removed 7 manholes and consolidated to 3
- Renewed all pipework externally and fitted with correct falls
- Removed and replaced the water mains to a new location
- Laid 140 tonne of stone scalping in preparation for footings and patio
We then carried out the following work on the extension construction:
- Built raft foundation
- Built superstructure in glazed blue brickwork
- Built all internal block work
- Removed all rear walls to existing building to create open plan living in new extension
- Fitted rubber roof with 2 large lantern skylight windows
- Fitted two sets of bifold doors
And added the finishing touches for the new living space:
- Removed and fitted a completely new central heating system
- Re-wired down stairs of house with new Ethernet cables for camera and internet points
- Fitting of numerous LED lighting throughout the extension
- Tilling all floors with 800×800 tiles
- Tilling of walls with 600×300 tiles for ease of cleaning
- Tilling of utility room walls with marble effect tiles
- Installation of bespoke high-end Magnet Kitchens cabinets and appliances
- Built bespoke media wall and cabinets
- Soundproofed all walls and ceilings with soundproof boards and floating ceilings to enhance sound quality
- for tv media system
- Fitted Iroko wood worktops and bespoke floating shelves
- Installation of air conditioning system
Let’s not forget the outside space:
- Laid 180m2 of porcelain patio with great border
- Build new steps to gym and clad in porcelain slabs for wrap around effect
- Clad brickwork walls and gym in garden with James Hardie board cladding in grey
